Reply with quote | #1 | Patients of mine as well as those of Drs. Sydney Funk and Alan Rucket will soon receive a letter. These two gynecologists (Funk and Rucket) have just retired. I am moving into their offices and feel quite honored to have been invited to help care for their loyal patients.
I hope that my current website will help everyone learn a little bit about me. I certainly hope that after one visit with me their former patients will find comfort in staying with Women's Health Associates.
Many of my new patients have said they especially liked reading the "testimonials" page of my website.
Please call WHA to make your appointments. I am still accepting new patients at this time and look forward to meeting everyone this year as their annual appointments come up or sooner for any problems or concerns that may come up.
The office is around the corner at: 980 Johnson Ferry Road Suite 720 Atlanta 30342
Phone for an appointment: 404-252-3898.

If I had a fan club you'd be the president.
By the way... I had my first day (2/1/08) at Women's Health Associates. My schedule was full and everyone came in for their appointment! The staff was great, and the patients were terrific.
I'd like to have everyone's e-mail address so we can send out newsletters and announcements when I organize events, phone conferences, webinars, or just have something interesting to help you feel better and stay healthy!
The best way to be sure I have your e-mail is to click here and request my free E-book. CHECK YOUR JUNK MAIL if you do not receive the confirmation. Sometimes it ends up there... if it does be sure to let your e-mail program know that it was not spam; that way you will receive my e-mails in your regular mailbox.

Reply with quote | #6 | Dr. Rabin, I am 43 years old, have had mostly regular cycles although heavy at times. Beginning about 4 years ago the cycles were regular but heavy and lots of clotting. I have had Provera, no success, an ablation about 3 years ago, no success and I recently had another vaginal sonogram and the tech said I had a small cyst on one ovary, but it should cause any problems and the doctor said the same. Now I have been bleeding contiuously since December 7, 2007. I use super plus tampons and have to change them some days every 30 minutes. I have been to my gyn and he now says that I need to have a hysterectomy. He has never done a hormone balance test or anything like that. What should my next step be? I am glad I came across your website. If you recommend it, I will make an appointment to see you as soon as possible. I can not continue with this every day. Thanks Mary |

Reply with quote | #7 | Mary,
Thanks for sharing your story here. It sounds like there may still be some opportunities to try to control the bleeding using hormonal manipulation.
The following are some general comments regarding the management of irregular and heavy uterine bleeding. There are many approaches to heavy bleeding. You have tried several of them! There are many other details that need to be known regarding the thickness of the menstrual lining, is there regular ovulation, are there infections, how are the levels of thyroid, estrogen, and progesterone among others. Are there fibroids, polyps, pre-cancer or cancer (of the endometrial lining- this is not tested with a pap smear!) Bleeding for this long and heavy at times can often lead to anemia, leading to fatigue.
I am still accepting new patients at this time. I am thrilled to say that we have been seeing 3-5 new patients everyday along with the many, many returning patients who have been coming to this practice for almost 30 years.
You may call 404-252-3898 to schedule an appointment. Please gather your medical records regarding the recent ultrasound, all recent lab tests and the operative reports from your surgery.

Reply with quote | #8 | A recent patient posted this comment on my Survey Monkey Link. She is a long-time patient of the practice and made comments on her first visit with me. She sent it in with the hopes that her comments might help others make a decision about their continued care.
"My GYN retired....which was some what of a shock since I had been seeing him for YEARS!! So, when I was asked to pick someone new I was a little apprehensive. I reviewed my list of choices, asked some questions and finally decided on Dr. Rabin. His bio was impressive and I liked his philosophy. I think one other thing that swayed me was that he uses the ultra sound machine. For me at least, I think that tool is essential to having a very thorough exam (it detected 2 small cysts that probably wouldn't have been found otherwise - they went away on their own but none the less I was glad to have known about them). In any event, when I had my initial visit, I was a little nervous given that I was so used to my other doctor, but within about the first 45 seconds I was completely at ease, and I felt a connection to Dr. Rabin. My visit lasted for a lot longer than I expected, and he listened and answered all of my questions. I can honestly say, as sorry as I was to see my other doctor retire, I'm VERY glad I found Dr. Rabin. I hope to be seeing him for a very very long time!" CV, 41 y/o

Reply with quote | #9 | Here's an e-mail I received from a new patient today:
Date: Wednesday, July 2, 2008, 3:27 PM
I have to tell you that I think that I found just what I was looking for at your office. I really appreciate the time you took to discuss WITH me all of my concerns. I got all my questions answered and for the first time I did not think of more questions after I left your office.
It is really unusual to find a Doctor that can listen. I look forward to working with you.
Please feel free to use the quote. Have a great 4th. -PH
